PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Comandon Single Barrel Collection created in collaboration with Palateur Imports is a new and innovative program which builds on the success of Comandon receiving high accolades for its ultra premium cognacs. Comandon is a boutique cognac house focused on sophisticated and complex limited production cognacs. In 2012, Comandon hand selected about 5 exceptional barrels and these were set aside for Palateur Imports. These are single barrels essentially made from the Grande and Petite Champagne regions of Cognac in which the alcohol per volume was greater than 40% Alc./Vol., and between 41,5% and 46%. Says Mark Monaco, President of Palateur, “the Comandon Single Barrel Collection lines up perfectly with Palateur Collection, our collection of wines and spirits destined for collectors’ cabinets and cellars…the first release of the series will be Barrel # 7750-79, a 10 yr Petite Champagne XO, bottled at 86.4 proof, we are very appreciative of Mr. Vigneron opening up his paradis to allow us to taste and offer these amazing limited release cognacs.” Says Franck Vigneron, President of Comandon Global Sales, “Our paradis is like our special reserve bank, the gem chest which we use to better our standard cognacs to the highest level. The difficulty is to always keep a balance between the stock in the paradis and the increasing volume of production of our VS, VSOP & XO.” This first barrel of the series is expected to hit the USA in selected markets in time for the holidays.
